UEFA Women’s Champions League Standings

UEFA Women's Champions League Standings

The UEFA Women’s Champions League Standings are one of the key competitions in European club football for club teams. They play a decisive role in shaping match results and enable online betting on football matches.

On Saturday afternoon in Bilbao, Barcelona won their third European trophy and contributed further to women’s soccer’s growing momentum by defeating Lyon in an exhilarating final matchup.

Group Stage

The group stage of UEFA Women’s Champions League competition is an integral component. Group winners qualify directly for knockout stage while second and third-placed finishers earn spots in next season’s second competition. Four groups of four teams each take part in this round-robin stage with two going forward to quarter finals.

Barcelona are currently the defending champions and aim to clinch three consecutive crowns. Lyon, Frankfurt and Sparta were past champions while Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Wolfsburg have made appearances in previous competition finals.

The 2024-2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League will see an overhauled format. Each of the top seven associations will enter three teams while those ranked 8-17 can enter two. Teams ranked five to 12 will compete in a knockout play-off phase to make up eight final eight spots; 13-18 will be eliminated. Furthermore, rule changes will see teams earning three points for wins and one point for draws in this competition.

Round of 16

The Round of 16 marks the UEFA Women’s Champions League’s initial knockout stage, featuring top club teams affiliated with UEFA (the governing body of European football). Formerly known as UEFA Women’s Cup, this tournament was rebranded as Champions League during 2009-10 season and underwent significant modifications – such as including runners-up from top eight ranked nations; one-off finals; and until 2018 hosting it simultaneously with men’s Champions League finals.

Current Champions League qualifying rounds consist of two qualifying rounds with only winners advancing directly into group phase play. Four clubs enter directly via champions path while five more enter via league qualifying path – this latter path includes an preliminary round. Every association must organize an eleven-a-side domestic league in order to have one team competing in tournament – 52 UEFA member associations took part in Champions League 2024 alone!

Quarter-Finals

The 2023-24 season marked the 23rd edition of UEFA Women’s Champions League, the European club football championship organized by UEFA since replacing UEFA Women’s Cup in 2009. The competition’s final took place at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

Lyon have reached this stage of the tournament for the first time in five years under manager Simone Innatschodt and star forward Ada Hegerberg has made them favourites to make an impressionful statement and win it all!

Chelsea breezed through their group, easily taking first place and looking forward to facing off against the victor of Brann’s and Ajax’s quarterfinal tie. Chelsea have proven they possess sufficient depth to overcome Ajax’s challenge and advance further.

On 19 and 20 March, the quarter-finals will be played across Europe on DAZN live streaming service. Teams listed first will host Leg 1, while Leg 2 matches will take place between the teams listed second. UEFA has confirmed that all matches in this round will be broadcast live across Europe by DAZN.

Semi-Finals

The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals and will play two legs against one another over two legs for a chance at advancement to the final, which will take place on May 25 at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.

The USWNT have an opportunity to advance to the next round against either of their European opponents; however, success will likely come faster if they avoid defeat against Portugal or the Netherlands.

United States viewers can watch UEFA Women’s Champions League matches on Paramount+ and Pluto TV with a 7-day trial subscription for each channel. On Saturday April 22, Lyon takes on Barcelona for another showdown that could crown them champions again! CBS Sports Golazo Network will air these semifinals live.
