Jake Paul Vs Mike Tyson on Netflix
Jake Paul will face boxing icon Mike Tyson for the very first time ever in a sanctioned professional fight that includes eight two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves.
Paul made his professional debut in 2020 and has amassed an impressive 9-1 record ever since – including first round knockout victories over Nate Diaz and Ryan Bourland of MMA fame.
What’s the deal?
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson announcement of an official pro fight sparked much curiosity when it was made known that eight two-minute rounds would take place with 14-ounce gloves being worn in accordance with rules, and that the outcome of this bout would depend on both fighters’ professional records.
To keep the fight fair for both fighters, and to ease concerns over Paul’s stamina as he transitions from an MMA-styled prizefighting career into real boxing. The choice of heavier gloves was made to ensure an equitable fight.
As a heavyweight boxer, Tyson can deliver devastating punches that leave opponents bloodied with just one strike. Paul holds her own in the ring as well, scoring first-round knockout wins over professional boxers Ryan Bourland and Andre August in 2023. Paul and Tyson have been working out together in preparation for this fight; its original date had been July 20, but due to Tyson having experienced an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes prior to arriving in Los Angeles it had to be postponed until further notice.
Will it be a slugfest?
Jake Paul and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will make history when they face off in what will be the first official professional boxing bout on Netflix. It may seem unlikely, but no doubt this event will garner global appeal and garner massive media coverage.
Paul originally began his career by fighting other social media stars; however, his recent focus has been to build true boxing skills through facing legitimate competitors such as Ryan Bourland and Andre August – two wins by first-round KO which have established Paul as an impressive competitor and look set to make this fight into a showpiece event.

Will Tyson win?
Update: Due to medical issues afflicting Tyson, his fight has been postponed until November 15. AT&T Stadium and Netflix will still host this livestreamed event.
Paul made himself well-known as a YouTube and social media influencer before entering professional boxing in 2023, boasting an unblemished 9-1 record with six knockout victories against other YouTubers and former MMA fighters; later scoring first round knockout victories over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley twice (twice!) and Nate Diaz.
Paul is relatively unknown in boxing circles; having never faced anyone in the top ten of any sport and three decades younger than Tyson. While it would be shocking if Tyson defeated Paul, Paul will likely enjoy all physical advantages during their fight – possibly scoring some knockouts but unlikely taking Tyson down to the canvas; therefore it would likely be in Tyson’s favor to knock Paul out in round two or three for optimal results for all involved parties involved.
Will Paul win?
After two brutal first-round knockouts against Ryan Bourland and Andre August in December and last Saturday respectively, it is evident that Paul has the ability to defeat professional boxers. Unfortunately though, he lacks technical proficiency when fighting.
Perry has made his mark as an aggressive brawler in both bare-knuckle fighting and UFC, known for throwing powerful punches with ease and using his reach to defeat opponents. These traits will likely carry over into boxing where Perry will likely employ similar strategies to deliver results.
Boxing’s rules and gloves reduce punch effectiveness compared to bare knuckle fighting or mixed martial arts (MMA), as will Tyson’s experience, likely making Paul Perry less effective than expected in combating him. Even so, defeat doesn’t disqualify Paul from taking on Tyson in future; rather it merely reduces his odds of victory significantly in what could prove an expensive fight against him in future events.
