The Puppy Bowl 2024 will mark its 20th Anniversary with 131 adorable players – from Sweetpea at 1.7 pounds to Levi the Great Dane who weighs 70. Additionally, six special needs pups and four former players will be inducted into its Hall of Fame.
The three-hour show airs just hours before Super Bowl 50 to promote pet adoption and can be found simultaneously on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV and Max.

Over 2.7 million pets are euthanized each year due to shelter space constraints; animal advocates hope Puppy Bowl 2024 can encourage viewers to adopt. At this year’s game, there are 131 puppies competing from 73 shelters and rescues, from Sweetpea the Cavapoo to Levi the Great Dane who weighs 70 pounds! Additionally there are special needs players, such as Riddle (Pug with Cerebellar Hypoplasia) and Mr Bean (Papillon with only two back legs).
Discovery
Puppy Bowl 2024 kicks off hours before Chiefs-49ers play in Super Bowl 49, featuring adoptable dogs from 73 shelters and rescues across 36 states and territories. This year’s lineup features 131 puppies ranging from 1.7-pound Sweetpea to 70-pound Levi, the Great Dane; six special needs pups including Riddle the Pug Terrier with cerebellar hypoplasia as well as Mr. Bean the two-legged Papillon will also be there.
Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, TruTV Max and Discovery+ will simultaneously broadcast this game for three hours before concluding prior to Super Bowl 58’s start time.

While football fans anticipate seeing Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers battle it out on the field, animal lovers will flock to the Puppy Bowl pregame show this year. This cute pregame show will showcase 131 adoptable puppies on teams Ruff and Fluff competing for the Lombarky Trophy – with six special needs pups such as Skipper (hearing impaired pit bull); Moosh (Australian Shepherd mix with hearing loss); Stryker (border collie with hearing loss); and Mr. Bean (papillon born without front legs).
