DC delivered an outstanding performance against CSK at Chepauk Stadium to score their first victory since 2025 and increase their chances of qualifying for one of the four spots on their respective league table. This victory marks DC’s breakthrough into top four qualifying territory.

Mitchell Starc Breathed Fire with the Ball

Mitchell Starc bowled an outstanding five wicket spell against SunRisers Hyderabad at Chepauk to give DC victory. The left-arm pacer delivered consistent swing and didn’t allow any batsmen to settle in their batting positions.

Australian spinner Michael Hogan struck first and dispatched Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma, to leave SRH in an unfavourable position. However, Heinrich Klaasen quickly turned things around with his aggressive strokeplay that saw him smash Starc and Axar Patel for boundaries – giving SRH hope of survival.

Starc returned to derail SRH’s chase, dismissing Hetmyer and Rohit Sharma to give DC victory on their adopted home ground for only the second time since 2010. A brilliant yorker from him then dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad with ease in the final over. That was enough for DC to claim their incredible win after last winning here back in 2010. KKR suffered their first loss at MA Chidambaram Stadium since 2008; currently sitting third with seven points.

Kuldeep Yadav Bowled a Maiden IPL Wicket

Rahul was both an offensive force with the bat and defensive anchor with the ball for DC as they formed partnerships and limited CSK’s run scoring. His 77-run knock was the cornerstone of DC’s innings on an unpredictable surface.

Khaleel Ahmed got Jake Fraser-McGurk early in the Powerplay out for four-ball duck when he attempted a pull across the line but mistimed it and was caught at mid-on. Later Abishek Porel and Axar Patel both fell victim to Noor Ahmad bowlings for notable contributions and Ravindra Jadeja bowled both Abishek Porel and Axar Patel off successive balls for wicketless scores respectively.

Vipraj Nigam Played a Crucial Role

CSK are looking to put their season back on the right path following back-to-back defeats against DC, who remain unbeaten thus far in this tournament. Both sides will be determined to secure victory here and take every advantage available in pursuit of victory.

DC were on the brink of losing control of the match when Ruturaj Gaikwad was struck out by Mitchell Starc’s quick bouncer in the sixth over. However, young legspinner Vipraj Nigam kept up pressure and removed Devon Conway for a duck, leaving CSK at 66/3.

But Ashutosh Sharma soon came to their side’s rescue in spectacular fashion.
