Spain have shown they could reach the finals following an impressive performance on Matchday 2 in Switzerland. Goals scored by Aitana Bonmati and Mariona Caldentey gave La Roja a 2-1 victory against Sweden before Esther Gonzalez secured victory against Italy with her late conciliation.

England can still qualify for Olympic qualification; to do so they will need to better Belgium’s result and hope the Netherlands don’t beat Scotland on Sunday. A top two finish will ensure an Olympic spot as Team GB coach Sarina Wiegman can select players from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as part of Team GB squad selection process.
